12/03/2002 Entry: "Rainy Day"
Hi all-
Well it's a rainy day here in the Dallas area - oh, joy! Actually when it's rainy in December I tend to get a little stuffed up and sniffly. No - it's NOT fun but que sera, que sera.
Anyway I'd like to mention something here about Park Cities Tactical and the operation and funding of the domain. Over the past year I have made a few life decisions and have started off in a new direction and with that comes a little sacrifice here and there. When I first started off PCT I was doing quite well financially and the charges and fees for the web site were not really a large concern. Now, a year later and +$30K/year less in my pocket things are tighter and something has to give. We (my bride and I) have cut back where possible, are not going out/eating out as often and have curbed our travel plans for the time being. One item I really do not want to give up/lose is PCT. I have invested way too much time, effort, sweat and tears into this place to just dump it. The alternative is a plea for some sort of help. I have set up a page where you can read about the two plans I have for helping recoup some funds for the site. You can go here to read more: An Open Letter to the Members and Friends of Park Cities Tactical.
Basically it's this: You can do a donation to 'the cause' by sending funds through either PayPal or C2IT or you can put up an item to sell at the on-line auction where the proceeds go to 'the cause' as well. That way maybe we can both benefit from your 'cleaning up' and placing the items for auction.
At some point I may open up the auction site for sale of items like Guns America but on a smaller scale with only a 'donation request' from the proceeds of the sale(s). But that's down the line (again that would require more bandwidth and traffic fees).
Anyway - that's about it. I thank you in advance for your continued support and contributions.
