Geeze guys. Now I really do feel like the mutant. I'm at about the 6,000 round mark with Blazer 115 gr FMJ through my P7s and I've had nothing but good luck with the stuff. I find it cleaner and more consistant than Win White Box (and let's not even talk about that crap from PMC). Never an ammo related failure with the Blazer so far.

Just my $0.02

I practice with Blazers loaded with Gold Dot Bullets. Yes, they are aluminum case. I pay $8.50 for a box of a 100rds. I figure I carry Speer Gold Dots that practicing with Blazer Gold Dots was a good idea. So it's a few dollars more then ball ammo. I have gone through a few thousand and not a hitch. As a matter a fact the ammo was very accurate and not that dirty.

Have you guys noticed that Blazer really fouls the gas chamber? After 200 rounds, I can't even release the slide with the cocker anymore. I suspect that the aluminum is shot into the chamber.

A friend of mine in Plano has shot Blazers thru his P7 and after 200 rnds it will jam the slide movement in the piston. After reaming out the gas chamber, Silvery stuff fell out. I would assume the stuff comes from the aluminium casing. I would also assume that the heat from the burning gases would melt some of the the aluminium and cause it to flow into the gas port.
The Armorers manual do advice against using Aluminium casing as also mentioned by JimC.
Blazers are also light in their loadings as mentioned by SAWBONES. It is a German gun made for German Ammo specs. The 9mm that you get from Germany are a lot hotter than your commercial loads here in the US.
For my P7M8, I've been using Military loads for my IDPA Matches. Geco (Dynamite Noble), L7A2 (Hirtenberger), M882 (Federal), DNL (S.African). They are all pretty dirty but they work for me. All of them are Brass cases.

I shot 150 rounds of Blazer as a part of my reliability test when I first got my P7, 50X115grain, 50X124grain and 50X147grain.
I shot upside down, I tried to limpwrist it (especially in rapid mode), etc. with no issues whatsoever but when I got home and my pistol cooled off it felt rough cycling it - quite a bit of junk in gas system, not really AL shavings, just dirty, inexpensive ammo, that's all.
Good enough for plinking @less than $5/box to my door
I carry 124grain Hydras and Hornady XTPs.

Winchester White-Box, 115gr Brass cased value pack at WalMart ~$10, 100 rounds. The Blazers just aren't worth it. I get reloadable brass (for when I decide to reload), and no fear of cheap ammo messing up expensive guns. When I get to do more shooting I'll prolly switch to some sort of TMJ/CMJ sort. Wouldn't wanna run a Corvette on Regular Unleaded now would you? Ahh.... the 2002 400HP Z06 Corvette... love

Agreed CeasarI, Blazers are not worth it to mess around in the P7. The Winchester White boxes are fine and their loads are not too whimpy and for $5 a box, that's just right for plincking. The Winchester Brass are also pretty thick. Great for reloaders.

I had a P7 that would not fully cycle with Blazer, but was totally reliable with everything else. Im not knocking CCI, as I shoot 3000-5000
rounds of it per year and actually find it more accurate and consistant than other discount lines, ie Win. White box etc.

I'm with CaesarI,The white box winchester value packs from Wally World are the best range ammo I've came across,Probobly cheaper in cost than the Blazers anyway.
I've shot over 10,000 of the Winchester and have never had a malfunction,Threw my 92FS..
Still waiting for my P7M8...
With the fluted chamber I would be carefull shooting aluminum cased ammo.
And CaesarI were did you get those white grips?

Try the new Blazer BRASS! It's only $4.99/50 at Academy Sports and I think it is better than the Winchester 100pack Bulk Ammo. My understanding is the Winchester white box is a plated lead bullet whereas the Blazer Brass appears to be a copper jacked bullet.

H&K specifically recommends NOT shooting the Winchester bulk pack stuff due to it's fouling of the suppressor flutes in the MP5SD. I imagine, though I have no first hand experience that this could also foul the gas cylinder in the P7.

Couldn't help but marvel at the ammunition prices quoted in this thread.

So now, its 2008, times are hard (in more ways than one), and ammunition prices are simply astronomical. But that could be the least of our worries...

BTW... aluminum Blazer didn't do so hot in my first M8; I had two unexplainable malfunctions.

But my bunny fart handload of 3.5 Clays under a 115gr ball bullet, which will not function the wife's P2000 reliably, runs like a champ in both my M8s.

The aluminum cases don't obturate enough to work right in that fluted chamber. They don't work AT ALL in an MP-5.
